Here's another what if!  We are up to 8 now.... that's a whole lot to think about...I am sincerely hoping you have been doing just that...thinking about these things..... and maybe even keep coming back for a little more to muse on.... :)

I picked this one up from Wayne Jacobsen....

You would think I was insane if I asked you to invest in my wonderful new company which manufactured nothing and was based on getting some sort of return with no effort on your part whatsoever....all you have to do for this is give me your money.  Why that would be almost as silly as saying "just trust God."  Sure....

I guess we can make this one What if   No. 6....   :)    we have eaten the idea that life is all about something called "success"... to most folks it mean doing great things, making lots of money, having a great, big something or other.... what a lie!

I want you to know how much this has complicated our lives. Do a little just suppose Philip the Muser is right about this.... I mean...

What if.... Philip is right and my life really doesn't have to be so complicated.

Any of you that have been following these musings for any length of time can probably even smell this next "what if"   coming..... bear with the old fellow....

No. 4 was:  What if….. what God says about Himself is true….and what I believe about Him is not true?

So No. 5 follows right on top of that...how about giving this one some thought...

This is a pretty important one..if one can actually say that one "what if"   is more important than another.... they are all significant parts of our individual journeys into God.  Wrestling with all these thoughts...asking our questions...is the way we come to know Him...the way we begin to hear Him way down deep inside of us...

Have you ever noticed the obsession  we have with our bodies?  Consider for a moment all the health programs, wellness stuff,  diets of every size, shape and variety....they will be with us forever and ever (all because of our bodies of every size, shape and variety)...   :)   Look at all the perfect exercise products and/or programs to get my body fit..... fashions constantly changing to adorn this marvelous body I am so obsessed with to make it beautiful..... etc....etc........

I am going to pursue the "what if"   thing for a bit.... hopefully it will stir you the same way it has been stirring me....it is making me think about things...talk to God about things....question the preconceived ideas I had and all the things we have been told  to believe.... how much more fun to believe what the Lord Himself shows us than what somebody else tells us we have to believe....  :)

So with that to kick us off this morning.....

What if...... we really understood.......

I love what this stuff does to my head.... where it sends me.... the feelings....the emotions...the crush of God's presence.  I only read a couple paragraphs this morning and I have so much to muse about my brain feels like it is swimming in the oceans and the waves are really up!

Try this first of a few what ifs  I would like to throw out there. What does a simple thought like this do for you?

"What if the guy who sold everything he had to buy the incomparable pearl, was God and you were the incomparable pearl?"

 As mentioned yesterday... it really doesn't take a whole lot to get me going..... yesterday it was Eldredge's musings on page 102 ....    This morning it was while reading my own Daily Prayer and the part about being His co-worker leaped out at me....and off I went....  That was part of what I was trying to communicate yesterday.... If I am Mr. Make It Happen  then God becomes my little co-worker... which is both upside down and backwards!  We are supposed to stop doing and let Him do all the work!   :)

I finally made it past page 100 in John Eldredge's book...Walking with God....yessss....seems like it has taken me forever....each little journal entry gets me musing away... then again.... lots of things get me going so it keeps my thought processor pretty busy......   :)       But....there it was on page 102.... the phrase  "make it happen".... kind of the story of John's life.......his life?  Give me a break....Philip here is the make it happen  maestro!  This guy is writing about me... not about himself!   :)
