I've been thinking these past few days.....did you know it is dangerous to think? Did you know that "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he".... What that means, simply, is that if any one of us wants to know what's in our heart, what's really in our hearts... then just think about what you think about! Like I said, it can be dangerous if we are honest about what things we think about....scripture says "think on these things" (check out Philippians 4:8).....
I am excited this morning. The house just emptied out and all the breakfast stuff is cleaned up and I have a few minutes to write.....finally getting back to this being born again thing again. Last time I wrote was back on January 2, if you need a little background for what I am about to try to say.
There was/is a popular Christian song where we ask God to "Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord". We really need that. We really need the eyes of heart to be opened so we can see!
Amazing what a little sleep can do. :)
This is/was the first morning I could sleep in with no breakfasts to cook in many days. Really feels good. At the moment no one is scheduled in for tonight either, so we have another day before a big weekend stretch.
Doesn't really get any busier than this....... the weekend hasn't even stopped.....there were 13 of us trying to fit around the dining room table last night (only 8 the night before that and only 8 tonight!!!!).... what a marvelous time had by all...... actually it was kind of an all day thing. There is so much rolling around in my head right now.... maybe I can take a breath to try to sort some of it out tomorrow.
"The test results are perfect. No signs of cancer. Still one node showing but they say it may be scar tissue and there is no cancer activity in it ........... I am so overjoyed!!!"
The Lord keeps sending such wonderful people to our little B&B.... what a hoot! Sometimes keeps me from getting time to muse :)
Old friends from New Jersey have been here for 2 days. A friend from New Hampshire arrives tonight and then others from NH on Friday. Saturday brings old friends from Connecticut..... then there are the new guests who will be friends when they leave!
Appreciated your comment.....question :)
Wish there were easy answers....... magic prayers...... some simple plan...... the 10 steps for a perfect attack...... I don't even want to joke about that as the title of my next (first) book! What you are looking for is what we all long for...you know the simple way to do this thing and get on with it. Once again, we can take a look at any/every religious system and you will see their formula, their method, their doctrine clearly spelling out how it all works........ only how come it never has?
First great news is that the cold I got blind sided with is gone in just 4 days.
Next good news is, we did a spur of the moment thing on Friday and drove to Maine for a night away (at a B&B of course!), with a dinner and massage package..... then on Saturday drove to be with old friends of ours to witness their daughter's marriage (more about that will be on our family blog page - in our blog roll it's ellen and philip)..... then we drove back last night.
It's amazing how Satan takes even the incredible blessings of our Father and uses them to poke at some area of weakness whether body, soul or spirit. He's good at it.
I seem to just about sit down to start typing and all kinds of things start to happen...... phones ring, people stop by, guests check in, or return from being out and want to chat... just constant. The Lord has blessed this transition from 2007 to 2008 in a way that boggles my mind. I have been trying to get after crunching all the numbers to close out the year, but won't begin to touch it till tomorrow. It seems we have been non-stop with virtually every room filled for two weeks. I crashed at 8:00 last night and slept for 10 hours. This morning our last guests checked out.
