The more personal we get with the Lord, the better. So many people push Him way out there somewhere, too busy to have time for us, so remote, who am I anyway, why would God want to talk to little old me.....He has so many important things to do....Me?
You....yes YOU.... are incredibly important to Him, He loves you more than you can know. And be honest with Him when you talk to Him....tell Him how you really feel...forget all the religious talk and thees and thous and let's pretend.....He is your friend....He loves you.
I have something cooking in my heart about that be honest thing... Maybe tomorrow. God will not strike you dead because you say what you really what to say to Him......really....He won't.... there is nothing He hasn't heard before.
I have claimed a conversation Father had with Moses a long, long time ago, as my very own. It sounds very different when it is you talking to Him, instead of eavesdropping on a conversation He is having with somebody else. I hope it triggers something for you. :)
“Now therefore, I pray Father, that if I have found favor in your sight....then let me know all your ways, so that, more importantly, I can get to know you better every day. I ask you for favor..... without it I have nothing to show to others. And all those other people, Father....they are your people.
And God said to Philip..... “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Then Philip said to Him, “If your presence does not go with me, do not lead me up from here. For how then can it be known that I have found favor in your sight? Both myself and those who walk with me? Is it not by your going with us, so that we may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?”
And the LORD said to Philip, “I will do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight, and I have known you by name.”
Then Philip said, “I pray Father, show me your glory!”
And God said, “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim My name before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion. But you cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!”
Then the LORD continued, “Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the Rock, the rock Who is My Son; and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the Rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by."
Then the LORD passed by in front of Philip who is in the Rock and proclaimed, “The LORD God, the LORD who is your God, is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He has by no means left the guilty unpunished, and visited the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations......yet He has provided His perfect Son as the Lamb of God, who has taken that punishment upon Himself and provided redemption and life in Him.....in His Rock, who is Christ Jesus our Lord.
And Philip made haste to bow low toward the earth and worship. And Philip said, “And now, since I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, I thank You for your promise to go along in our midst, even though we, your people, are so obstinate (we are still your people Lord); do pardon all of our iniquity and our sin, and take every one of us, each and every one, as your very own possession.”
Father, I proclaim to principalities and powers that the above words contain the description of Your very character which You brought forth on the earth in the incarnation of your Son Jesus… the Word became Flesh and dwelt amongst us….and you have placed that Word in our hearts so that we may be transformed into the image of your Son, displaying Your very character thru us and filling this whole earth with your Glory in us. I have claimed all that you said to Moses specifically for myself, for my family, my friends and all those who belong to you.
Enjoy the day!
