....a look at the other side
I promised I would get back to the other side of the imagination coin.....
If you have been reading along here for any length of time...I am hoping we are getting on the same page about the war on this earth that we have been born into. That's the reason life seems to be filled with so many hassles....big ones (think Iraq...think stock market...think oil greed...think CEO's at places like Lehman Bros or AIG...think about loved ones just diagnosed with some form of cancer...) and then little ones of every size shape and variety...the little foxes that come to spoil the vine...to take away your peace...to bring every conceivable kind of frustration to the plan for today...tomorrow or next week.....constant....ongoing....this war we have been born into has battles going on everywhere in our lives....
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against (the rules and) the rulers, (against the principles and the principalities) against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
All of this because Satan hates God and everything He has created... Satan has waged war in this world where he still has power....Satan is called the ruler of this world. He rules its systems... every system.... be it political, economic, religious, social....you name it....doesn't matter....they are all a part of the kingdom's of this world.
This is all background to the negative side of the gift of our imagination that God gave us for His own glory to be manifested in His creation. Satan has assaulted our imaginations in battle after battle. He will never stop....until God stops him permanently. Our choice becomes .... pressing into God to free us from all these assaults on our minds and not give them over to the destructive forces.
It comes at us in novels, TV programs, advertising....here you go everybody...this is where the fun us...just use people for your own ends....it's party time....look at that chick...look at that hunk...it surrounds us all the time...attacks every value we have....attacks our relationships....pornography in the world system is one thing....pornography in the church system is another thing....and.... pornography among ministers is running rampant...it twists men's minds...distorts the beauty of sex as God designed it and turns it into a selfish, self-serving destructive force in people's lives.
If we discover the reality of the war...we can win all of those battles. If we don't discover it....it can cost us everything...Satan comes to steal...kill..... and destroy.... We all know people who are casualties of these battles for our minds....people who have turned over their imaginations to the wrong kind of imagery....and destroyed not only their own lives but the lives of friends and families in the process.
What if....we all started grabbing hold of this reality....and went on the offensive in this battle against Satan.... What if?
