I guess it could have been worse...

All the stuff I said about those addictions  the other day?... the sad thing is/was that... I guess it could have  been worse... I mean I could have stayed  addicted to all that stuff the world systems  had offered me... probably would not have made it for another 32 years if I did....  :)

Also could have  stayed addicted to all that stuff the religious systems  had offered me and then never have discovered the beauty and freedom of simply walking with God.... just still sad that it took those 32 years to even begin to see it and understand it.  I guess that's why I keep writing about all this stuff... hoping  that somewhere out there somebody will read something that will click for them and they too will begin to question all the baloney of the systems... whether that is the world's version or the religious  version... doesn't matter... just good to start questioning.... good to start somewhere since they are both from the same  source.

I talked about eventually landing in the Pentecostal  variety... their version of the religious system... they entered the scene when the Lord tried to restore His gifts to His church and started baptizing people in the Holy Spirit.  There are even different varieties of Pentecostals...some are called Holy Rollers...  getting pretty noisy and bouncing up and down the aisles.... there are the Holiness versions... even way out there groups that handle poisons snakes since Paul the apostle got bit by one and didn't die why not them as well... or eat weird things because they can "eat any deadly thing and it will not hurt them"... the "Shakers" were totally against the evil of sex so the last member  finally died recently... but all  Pentecostals major in minors and have lists of things one does not  do and lists of thing one does do.... wearing jewelry is sinful... using makeup... going to movies... ladies cutting their hair ... all that kind of stuff... dresses need to be long... very long... women need to cook and scrub and sew and submit to their husbands in everything... and try to make babies often.... very heavy male domination  stuff... amazing how the men made sure the ladies were kept as unattractive as possible.... could that maybe have had something to do with their struggles  in a certain area....one of the major Pentecostal TV Preachers really came down publicly on the men in that area... only to be exposed for clandestine meetings with prostitutes.

Religion never helps guys with that area of their lives... only walking with the Lord and having a love relationship with Him will help that area.... you only get one guess how I know that. ...  :)

Ellen didn't do really well with all that variety of baloney so we kept moving on thru them... until we hit the Charismatic Movement.... before we get there though... I need to tell you the saddest of all my Pentecostal stories...

Next time....
