...so stop already!
I actually did it yesterday... I stopped... still can't believe I did it...
Usually Ellen runs up alone to the Lake to visit our daughter and the grandkids ... who are enjoying their last week of vacation here before heading back to Rwanda. Philip doesn't ever stop though. He is most always back here at the B&B ... holding down the Fort... Fort Village Victorian... :)
What does it take for this old fella to say "so stop already!" ?...... Then again... maybe a more important question for you would be... "What does it take for someone like yourself to say... so stop already! .....?"
Don't we all get into it... burning our candles at both ends... always more to do than is possible to get done...? I know what it took for me.... coming out of the busiest July we ever had... we entered into an August that is looking busier than July... a new booking or two coming in every day... already booked 36 room nites in the first 8 days... the weekend was a beyond crazy full house... complete with no word from guests who finally arrived just before midnight... I had pictured them in some terrible accident or something... but left a note on the door just in case... told them to just knock on my door since I would probably be asleep... then I heard the knock...
Following that, we had folks that were half-way thru their 2 week stay... he had angina problems... had to leave immediately to go to a hospital in Maryland for surgery... then folks came down after breakfast and announced there was a plumbing problem on the 3rd Floor that was being cleaned up but I would need to go up with my trusty plunger...then the folks in the room below came down to announce there was some kind of leak... seems that the 3rd floor plumbing problem was much more than I expected and it had worked it's way down thru the ceiling below... dripping on the dresser.... actually making that a bit worse was the fact that our guests open computer was sitting on top of the dresser.... and those were only the highlights...
It was time to stop... so... yesterday I went with Ellen to the Lake.... out of touch with Fort Village Victorian for 7 whole hours....
I needed to stop... even if it was only for 7 hours....
Oh... the computer is down at the computer store being evaluated....
:)
