...it was early
Foliage was early... my excuse for being "missing in action"... it is hard to explain what things are like here at the Village Victorian during foliage... especially when it comes early.... :)
This year we officially began our madness on Friday September 17th... it will end 30 days later on Sunday, October 17th... the day things go back to whatever "normal" might be around here. We are so very thankful for the way the Lord continues to just send people to us... all the time... but especially for this phenomena we call Foliage in Vermont.... maybe a look at the statistics will help to see what I am talking about today.
We have 5 rooms we can sell x 30 days = 150 room nights available... to date we have sold 131 of them... that is an improbable 87.3% occupancy... (6 of the 19 unsold nights could still be sold before 10/17)...
Then.... since October 1st... the occupancy is at an even more amazing 91% ... (with those same 6 rooms still available). Comparing this to the average occupancy in Vermont at 20% (which would probably mean 40/50% during foliage)... maybe you can see why my mind is so boggled... and so thankful... this all is not because we are such great business folks...
It is however, my excuse for my disappearing act from Philip's Musings since September 24th.... :)
One more week to go before the dust begins to settle... then hopefully I will be able to muse a little more once again....
:)
