enjoying the snow?

People are sending in all their pictures of mountains of snow  on Facebook....along with their tales of being snowbound  in some way or another...and all the back breaking labor  involved in trying to stay ahead of it all...

Only exception  is my sister-in-law Jeanne... who lives in Florida...and she would love to see some snow... she was totally bummed when she heard Florida  is the only state that hasn't been hit by snow... most of the others not only hit.... but  hit incredibly hard...  no where left even to put all the white stuff...  fortunately our new plow guy is doing a really great job for us... saved the old fella's back big-time.....  :)

It did get me musing  a bit... about what a rough month February  is in Vermont... folks get what they call cabin fever  up here... everybody can't wait  till it's over... all the cold.... all the snow...all the long dark days... where has all the sunshine gone!!!!

We have good friends that struggle with depression  every single February...  year after year... they can't  explain why... it just seems to happen... until the sun  finally comes.... it's spring and everything around us comes to life... the devastation of winter has been restored....

John Eldredge said.... "if winter ever came for good and never left, we would be desolate. Every tree leafless, every flower gone, the grasses on the hillsides dry and brittle. The world forever cold, silent, bleak."

Aren't you happy that it never stays that way... that spring always  comes... that everything around us is restored.... comes to life... it's all part of the plan...

"The restoration of the world played out before us each spring and summer is precisely what God is promising us about our lives. Every miracle Jesus ever did was pointing to this Restoration, the day he makes all things new."        Thanks John...

We are here so He can restore us....
