...the Presence

How does one explain that which is inexplicable?... a mystery is just that... a mystery... like the Presence I talked about last time... the mystery of the Presence has been solved for me... it is no longer  a mystery to me...but how do I explain  it to some one else?   We had  friends  over last night... a wonderful couple...had dinner together ... of course we ended up  talking about this whole thing I've been trying to communicate about these past several weeks on my blog... :)

I used a tall glass in an attempt to illustrate it....  Here is this big empty glass... that is Philip... the glass... the container...  right now container Philip is just full of air... which means he is full of self-love... full of himself... maybe we could even go so far as to say.... Philip is  full of hot air...   :)

The container is full of that hot air  because Philip made a choice  many many moons ago (and from time to time continues to choose) to eat  from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil... and the deception of Satan that started the whole thing... also continues to control  that air in the container... what ever air is still left in the container...

The good news is that the container was originally designed  to hold living water... that living water which comes from the tree of Life... eating from that tree brings the Presence... the living Water into the glass... what we are talking about here is displacing  what is in the glass... the hot air.... with the Life that is in the water.

So the container... Philip... the old fella... has this meeting with God... God comes along with this huge pitcher  full of Life water.... a hundred times more water than the glass could ever contain... and drips a couple drops of living water into Philip... and it changes his life  forever... he now contains a little tiny drop  of Jesus... and that little bit displaces  three major self-love areas  of Philip's life... the ones I talked about last time ...Philip has never had  an experience like this ever before... he is excited... feels he is totally different... just getting rid of these three  things... these first three addictions...  are we beginning to see  this thing a little?

Then the problem comes... Philip is told  (taught) that container Philip is now filled  to the tippy top with the Life of Jesus... that Philip no longer  lives but Christ lives in him.... that the life he now lives he lives by faith... the faith  of the Son of God.... wow.... !!!

That is wonderfully doctrinally true... except that it must become experiencially true for us... Philip only got a few drops out of that huge pitcher... there is still all kinds of hot air that needs to be displaced... the only way to displace it is by continuing to eat  from the tree of Life... His life then displaces  more and more of the hot air.... we spend our entire lives doing it... God has lots of water... rivers of it.... we can only handle  just so much at a time...I don't believe we ever totally fill  our glasses during our lifetime... love to have somebody prove me wrong... I've been at it almost 43 years now... don't know how many years I've got left... maybe 10... maybe 20 years?.... and after working at it  for so long..... I wonder some days if  container Philip  is even half full yet....

There is always more of Him to experience... and... of course.... always more things for Philip to say... smiley
