Who doesn't count the cost ... before we start to build something? ...before we start to do something... do I have enough to finsh the task..?... to start that business...? ... to build that house...?... to buy that car....? What is that going to cost me...?  What is the price I have to pay... ?    what is it going to cost me to follow  Christ?

How come is it... that I was only told about the bennies... why.... if I just give my life to God... I will find the true meaning of life... life will suddenly make sense... I will be saved  from hell... everything will become new...my old life where everything used to go wrong  all the time... now everything will go right... well... it will go right at least as long as I stop sinning.... as long as I straighten up and fly right...

How come is it that I never  heard what it was that Jesus actually said to folks who were going to follow Him... you know... things like "sell everything you have"... it will cost your everything... it will cost you your very life.. when He was here He never failed to let people know that when they entered that door.... entered that straight and narrow way... they were in for trouble.... He said you will have  tribulation... He said stuff is gonna hit the fan like you never saw before...

Jesus never deceived anybody about this... never... ever... why do we?

He let people know that to “follow Him”... as He put it.... involved them in lifelong "stuff"... difficulties... sufferings... persecution... trials... tribulation... for the rest of their lives... So how come is it I never heard that... how come is it I was told the opposite... hmmmm...

We need to stop selling something and tell people there is a cost here, a great cost.
