I have been talking about "experiencing" the things I say... got a chance to walk that one out up at Shadow Lake...

I am a 2 day escape type guy... not a 3 day... we had kicked back... having a great time... of course we also did quite a bit of work... putting away all the outdoor stuff for the winter... ellen tackled the gardens... we were good and tired by Wednesday evening... but woke up after "sleeping in" Thursday morning... and felt totally refreshed ... rarin' to go... which quickly turned to getting antsy to get back to Morrisville... you know... get back to "what I do"... so.... I suggested to Ellen that maybe we should skip staying over tonight and just head back after dinner...

   bad idea... I watched her face fall... and promptly went to work rationalizing the whole idea for her... the more I talked... the more I knew this was not just a bad idea... it was a very bad idea...

The words of my TAS translation the other day came floating back to me...

"It is a very difficult thing... almost impossible.... for the natural man to do nothing... to have nothing.... and especially to know nothing."

Philip's natural man could not just sit there and do nothing!  more words came floating thru...

"Natural man must do something, see something, have something. Ambition, acquisition, achievement"

I shared it all with Ellen...apologized to her... and we stayed over Thursday night...

I can't tell you what an awesome decision that was... but I probably will try...
