Now it's true confessions time... I personally took that good guys/bad guys thing to a whole nother level.... back in my days as a professional Christian Minister.... I taught folks that becoming a Christian was the way to escape all the bad things... can't believe I did this.. I even got paid to teach it... 

I had it all figured out... this is how it should work... good things happen to good people... bad things only happen to bad people... (therefore there has to be a reason why bad things happen to good people - like Christians...)

...except that eventually I discovered that bad things happen to everybody... all the time... (which is what I wrote about last time) ... but let's go back a few years... before I understood that...back to the time when there was a good religious reason for why bad things happen... we desperately needed those rationalizations in order to explain to these good folks... just why it was that bad things were happenong in their lives...

Since I functioned out of my reason back then... out of my natural mind... I offered a relationship with Jesus as the way out of  the mess of bad things in my world... just accept Jesus... let Him run your life... and the bad things will stop...

this did create a bunch of problems... because bad things kept happening.... next time... I'll try to let you in on some of my marvelous rationalizations... unfortunately they still run rampant thru much of Christianity... guess I'm hoping that more and more folks will actually see what I have been talking about...
