As human beings we have to rationalize everything that happens in our lives... so we can correct... adjust... change... adapt... and hopefully avert certain kinds of things (like bad things) from ever happening again... when we rationalize... when we explain it away... it helps us to stay in control...

I promised to tell you some of my rationalizations.... you see... if I "sell" Jesus to people on the basis of how a relationship with God will bring everything you have ever hoped and dreamed for... you know... success in every venture... health.... wealth... happiness... and of course if you should happen to run into some snag... all you need to do is pray and ask God to change it... you know...like...bring me success when I seem to be failing... bring me back to health when I get sick... bring me back my wealth when my financial world is falling apart... do what I want done Lord, so I can be happy again instead of depressed...

Then was does Pastor Philip say after God doesn't do any of those things that I keep asking Him to do...?

Pastor Philip rationalizes them... by making you responsible for the difficulty...basically it comes out something like this..."If bad things are happening in your life... then there is obviously something that God is after in your life that needs to change..."

 Here we go... Philip plays the trump card of the religious systems... the one that makes it all your fault... makes you feel guilty that once again you have failed to live the way that God wants you to live...

so sad... yet so true...
