Why Village Victorian?

There were a whole bunch of things going on in our lives when we decided to move to Morrisville, VT back in 1995......many of them were not very positive. I posted a lot about that on the Blog back in December. One thing that was in our hearts was the possibility of opening a B&B and we had done our house shopping with that in mind. For a number of pretty ugly reasons, we dropped that idea and put it on the back burner. In 1999, after my Epiphany at the fence, we put it back on the front burner.
Having had our own restaurant for 8-1/2 years. the thought of serving a few breakfasts and yakking with our guests seemed pretty simple....besides, it was the yakking with the guests that was the best part of the restaurant business! :)
We had always had bunches of people living with us right from the beginning of our marriage back in 1969.... we were always trying to help people get their lives together or have the security of a family to be part of.....get a handle on walking with the Lord.......lots of that sort of thing.
Once we had launched the B&B, it was a major adjustment to think that people would actually pay us to stay in our home! :)
We simply just opened our home to travelers coming to the Stowe/Smuggler's Notch area here in Vermont. Especially those who were looking for accommodations in the older tradition of Bed and Breakfast Inns, by simply sharing our home and our lives with them. We love to watch people relax, unwind and have a great experience..... doing everything we can to provide a peaceful environment and some genuine friendly hospitality because we love to serve people.
Our children, Jennifer and Jonathan, were all grown up and pursuing their adult lives. So... we (spelled ELLEN) tastefully redecorated their rooms (and ours too) trusting that our guests will find warmth, peace and comfort in the five rooms we have available.
Come check us out some time!
