The Rest of the Story :)
Anyway..... Ellen was saying, "Philip, you have to read this book that Jeanne sent you!"
If I have learned anything in our 40 years together , I have learned that when my wife says "Philip, you have to do..." something....anything.... that it probably would be a good thing for me to think seriously about doing it! :)
Besides, the discussions with my sister-in-law are usually quite lively and challenging ........ so.... I made the decision to read John Eldredge's "Waking the Dead". I'm not sure if this was another Epiphany but it certainly brought the two most profound Revelations I have ever had to date. It's hard to communicate things like this because our use of words, especially superlatives, has been so watered down with the way we use them, that they carry very little weight any more these days.
It changed my understanding of scriptures declaration that "My heart is deceitful and desperately wicked" from the reason why I continually keep screwing up all the time, to the way I used to be before I met Jesus..... and now I am a completely new creation with a heart of flesh and not of stone and Jesus now lives His life in me by the power of the Holy Spirit.....and He just loves me to pieces. I learned that my Father really wasn't the big guy with the big stick up there, just waiting for the next screw up so He could drop an anvil on my head..... but that He just loves me so, so much.... beyond anything I could doctrinally ever have imagined, no matter how many times I taught on His love, preached on His love or proclaimed His love...... now it was in that Knower of mine!
It fit in so beautifully with what I had been learning since discovering that all God wanted was a relationship with me..... Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Then the Lord used the book to show me the War..... that I was born into the middle of the greatest battle ever fought on planet earth, and.....it transformed the way that I pray and .... the results from this new way of praying were beyond mind boggling. Oh those words again.... life changing, transforming, earth shaking....I don't know.... I think you get the idea. I'll try to put some flesh on this tomorrow..... and on God's promise to me that I would see results like I had never experienced before first in the natural and then in the spiritual.......
See you tomorrow.....
