it's a very early Summer here in Vermont!
It is only the beginning of June and temperatures have been in the 80's day after day.... flowers are growing like crazy... grass needs cutting every few days... as green as it can get too! Great golf weather in spite of occasional thunderstorms... I know... I'll do my best to handle it... Copley Country Club takes good care of my golf habit... how about yours...?... and you get 10% off your green fees as our guests....Speaking of Copley... June 2nd and 3rd is the Annual Hickory Open... more than worth a trip just to watch these guys in their 1920's outfits using their ancient hickory sticks to hit a golf ball... they do that better than this old fella with his latest technology clubs... and their equipment was made at least several years before I was born!
Things they are a changing !
Lots is happening as we transition from Spring to Summer... the tulips are about finished but Ellen's incredible gardens are spinging to life... guests are even leaving with their trunks filled with some of ellen's perrenials!....warm temperatures have our guests enjoying the porches and chatting in the Gazebo... we are getting so busy it's hard to squeeze in my regular weekday trips to Copley Country Club....
Speaking of Copley... Beautiful Spring days are starting to add up... as are Philips trips to Copley Country Club! I do enjoy my golf... great exercise for the old fella too... and I just love to play Copley.... especially with our guests....
It's Philip's kind of course....old links style... short... no water... come on up for a round... you can even enjoy a 10% discount on green fees when you play 9 holes with the old fella... does it get any better than this ?.... I don't think so!

Yet another sure sign that Spring is on the way... not only are the temperatures going up... (albeit slowly)... over the next several days... but... the really, really big news is that Copley Country Club, right here in beautiful downtown Morrisville, Vermont, has opened 2 weeks early... anybody wanna play golf with Philip tomorrow????
Or any other day for that matter?
Then the Vermont Hickory Open will be here June 1,2,3.... gotta love it... all the guys in their 30's outfits and old clubs... what a hoot.. I try to go up and watch them every year... tons of fun... better book early for that one...

Just wait a couple minutes and it will change... temp got all the way up to 30 degrees today and will be down around 10 tonight.... with the winds a blowin'....brrrrrr....:)
just never know up here... summer one day... then a touch of Spring... and then back to Winter... part of the wonder of Vermont... you just never know what will happen next... that's why we never guarantee the weather... not really our department...:)
It has been said somewhere in Vermont tradition... that we have only two seasons in Vermont... there is Winter... and the 4th of July...:)
Springtime in Vermont!
After 3 days of 80 degree weather.... I thought maybe we had skipped Spring...
Back to normal Spring temperatures now... gotta love Springtime in Vermont... everything coming alive everywhere you look... the Green Mountains once again turn to green as other trees join our evergreens to decorate our rolling hills... oh my... the hills are alive with the Sound of Music...

Winter in Vermont
Hope you can handle this... just when we were all starting to think Springtime in Vermont, look what the weather went and done...Winter finally rolled through... with a vengeance... may just be time to dust off those ski-boots and head out to Vermont! It really is amazing to us... how people just keep booking and booking... regardless of the economy... or the weather...or the snow or no snow... or Stowe or no Stowe... (that was a pun...:) but still true... Morrisville is now a destination!
