the journey......
We have two couples we try to get together with every week or two to just sit quietly in God's presence for maybe a half-hour, each of us interacting with the Lord in whatever way we are most comfortable.... just communicating with Him.....listening to Him...responding to Him......yet together. At some point, the six of us then express what we have each experienced during that time.

Lord, show me Your Glory! That's the prayer I told you about yesterday...... the one I say every day. I ask Him. He does it. He shows me His Glory every day. It's a pretty wild way to live and I love it!

....have you seen His glory?
I talked yesterday about the great move of the Holy Spirit back in 1970 that swept young people into His Kingdom by the thousands. They were known as the Jesus People. I had experienced many, many miracles in my life for almost two years prior to 1970.....but this was the very first time I could say I actually saw the Glory of the Lord.
Daily Prayer
Father... thank you for another day... it's good... I want to just stop for a few minutes and focus on you as the most important thing in my life… to verbalize my thoughts… to look to you as the source of everything...take me into those green pastures ...where I get so nourished every day… lead me by the still waters... where I get refreshed and restored by you... fill me with your life... you are the living water... bring me into your rest where I stop all my work and watch... as you do the work that you want done… keep my heart at peace throughout the day…. continue to teach me how to live in your son…. how to talk with you about everything ... how to hear your voice each time you speak. Then lead me in your paths of righteousness for your name’s sake.
foolishness......?
What is the first thing to run through your mind when you read the word foolishness.....or think of someone doing something foolish..... or maybe acting like a fool?

I promised a little more about this new, exciting, normal vicarious living thing, so here it is.
do you have a hero......?
We were watching a movie a few nights back.....Invincible.....one of those "based on a true story" type movies.... about a guy named Vince Papale. Papale was a hero in South Philadelphia back in 1975 when he made it as a walk on with the Philadelphia Eagles. Great feel good movie.... against all odds, good guys win and they all live happily ever after. Enjoyed the movie....but.... enjoyed what the Lord the Lord showed me so much more.
another way to look at it......
I am thinking today....... and if you have been following my musings for any time, you know it is something I consider pretty important....this thinking thing. So important that I keep suggesting that you join me in the process. My today thinking centers around two religious philosophies.... two schools of thought..... two camps, as it were, that have been at war forever..... the mercy/grace camp and the law/rules camp......
why ask......?
I really enjoy reading people like Chambers and Tozer...... because I am constantly challenged to think! Thinking is a good thing... :) The other day, Chambers challenged me with the question, "Why does God tell us to ask Him for things?" That really got my head buzzing.....you know......... if God says He knows everything we need, says He knows all about us, knew us before we were in our mother's womb, knows the beginning and knows the end.....

Have you noticed that we humans tend to be absolutely certain about everything....things like the way to do everything....like the way everything should work out...the way it ought to happen...today, tomorrow...a week from next Tuesday.....next year...the rest of our lives.... we have the perfect plan and the perfect way for everything!
